Fauquier Health Welcomes Robotically Trained General Surgeon, Dr. Olga Mazur

Fauquier Health just announced the welcoming of their newest general surgeon, Olga Mazur, MD. Dr. Olga Mazur has joined Fauquier Health’s Northern Virginia Surgical Specialists group, which was acquired in the fall of 2022. Dr. Mazur will begin seeing patients in-office starting August 31, 2023. She joins four other general surgeons in the group – Dr. Nathaniel Saint-Preux, MD, Joseph Brown, MD, FACS, Cynthia Dougherty, MD, and Benjamin Wampler, MD, FACS.

Dr. Mazur graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. She also holds a Master’s Degree in biomedical science from Mississippi College. Dr. Mazur obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 2018. She completed her internship and residency training at Brookwood Baptist Health in Birmingham, Alabama, where she served as the education chief resident for the 2022-2023 academic year.

According to Dr. Mazur, “I strive to provide my patients with quality, evidence-based medical and surgical care. My goal is to help my patients successfully navigate their healthcare journey. From diagnosis to surgery to post-operative recovery and beyond, my patients can rely on me for effective and compassionate care.”

Dr. Mazur is trained in both open and minimally invasive surgery, with a special focus on robotic surgery. Dr. Mazur’s scope of practice includes foregut surgery, abdominal and inguinal hernia repair, endocrine surgery, breast surgery, endoscopy (EGD, colonoscopy), vascular access and general surgery. Dr. Mazur speaks fluent Russian. She has a strong interest in community and rural medicine. She enjoys a variety of hobbies including classical music, traveling and exploring new cultures. Dr. Mazur, along with her husband, are very excited to join the Fauquier community and look forward to exploring their new home.
