Intermediate Care Nursery

Fauquier Health's Family Birthing Center consists of a neonatal Intermediate Care Nursery (ICN) designed to provide care for babies who may be sick or born prematurely. Oftentimes, these babies need an extra level of attention and care before they are able to go home.

Neonatal nurse practitioners provide ongoing bedside care for babies in the ICN until they are strong enough to make the great adventure home with their families.
